ON THE MOVE

This is a short post, but just wanted to share with you some of Cole's first steps! He walked about 20 steps down our hallway on 1-24-09 the evening after his Birthday party. Now he's everywhere from room to room in just a week! He can't get enough of the walking. He thinks it's soooo fun! And he must be burning up a ton of energy, b/c he's eating a TON!!

Enjoy!

Happy 1st Birthday Cole

Cole's 1st birthday is today 1-26-09! Happy Birthday sweet little boy! We celebrated his birthday with friends and family on Saturday, and it was so fun! It was a packed in our humble little abode, but it worked. Sardines, but it worked. :) The entire house was decked out in orange, black, and white, OSU stuff, and pics from Betsy Gregory photography. I was trying to upload videos right now, but they're taking FOREVER!! So I'm just going to post a ton of pics instead.

Front of the Invitation. What a cute smile!

The cakes: by Pam Isenberg. She does SUCH a great job! They tasted awesome too!

Some decorations. Pictures of course by Betsy Gregory. She's amazing as always!

Happy Birthday Cole! Blow out your Candle!

Chris did not like the hat I made for Cole. Poor guy. Cole's so bald that the fluff on the bottom of his hat kinda looks like his hair. Chris though he looked like one of the 3 stooges. :) Oops!

Mmmmmm....cake!!

Feeding Daddy... Feeding Mommy....

So, Cole didn't just dive into his cake....he was pretty polite about it. We're going to give him cake again today and see if he gets any crazier with it. I have been looking forward to frosting up the nose and in the ears, but didn't happenn. We'll see. If it's funny tonight I'll post it! I'll do a slideshow of some friends/family pics I got at the party too. See below.

Cole, I love you! You are such a precious, sweet, cute little guy! Mommy is so in love with you, and I know Daddy is too! I will love you ALWAYS!

Countdown to Tampons...

This is one of the pictures I took for Cole's 1 year birthday invitation. He turns one on 1-26-09! We're having a big OSU 1st Birthday party! I can hardly believe it! I'm kinda sad he's growing up so fast, but I also know it will only get more fun! He isn't quite walking yet, but he can take a few steps. He stood alone for almost 10 seconds the other day! Maybe he'll be walking on his birthday?? Anyways, so this week I'm going to be a crazy lady trying to plan for the party and work and do everything else.

On a different note, I have to say I'm impressed with myself that I've made it breastfeeding for a year! Considering how it started out, I'm surprised I held out this long. I'm glad I could, though. Special thanks to Aubrey and Betsy in particular for being my inspiration to keep it going. I will be weaning soon, and I look forward to it! But then the countdown to Tampons begins......I'm not going to know what to do. It's been so nice not having to worry about that! Oh well, it's better than being pregnant again!

Trip to Houston

The week after Christmas, we treked down to Houston to see Matt, Angela, Payten, and especially our newest nephew, Brayden Pregler.
Brayden 2 wks old (above)
We had a great time visiting, playing with Payten & Brayden, going out to eat, shopping, and going to the park! Shopping is VERY hard with 3 kids Ang and I discovered--ESPECIALLY when Cole has 2 diaper blowouts while shopping!! By the time we got home he was in his 3rd outfit! And that wasn't an excuse to buy outfits. I had no choice! :) The kiddos had fun playing together during the week:
Riding in Payten's Jeep
(Thanks Payten for going slow for Cole! You are sweet and thoughtful, and thankfully a good driver!)
On New Year's Eve, we made it to midnight, remarkably. We got to play some wii, and I am HORRIBLE at Mario Kart and tennis, but it gave us a good laugh anyway. I was halfway decent at bowling. :) Thanks Matt & Ang for letting us stay with you! It was sooo much fun, and Brayden is sooo cute! So is Paytie girl!
Here are some fun pics of the park below:

Swinging:

Cole LOVED the swings!

Playing on the Big Toy: Payten loves for you to chase her. It was pretty funny with us all taking turns chasing after her. She never gets tired of it. SO fun!

So now it's back to normal life here in OK. No more 70 degree weather.....so sad. Now it's a 2 week countdown to Cole's first birthday on 1-26-09! Craziness!

Cole's First Christmases--12/23

We decided to have Cole's first Christmas present opening at our house the evening of the 23rd due to all the other events going on this weekend and traveling to and fro. He didn't really pay too much attention to anything except the bows and his one toy he got....scroll down

Cole and Mommy opening a gift. He liked the ribbon mostly...

Yea..Eskimo Joes sweats! He needed some more 12 month clothes. For those of you that are apawled that I'd let my child wear clothes representing a bar, I'll have you know that it says something different on the back, not "Stillwater's jumpin' little jukejoint". It says "Eat at Joes". I think it should say (In Dave Hunziker's voice) "Joes Cheese Fries Make You Strong!"
His favorite gift by far was not clothes, but this LeapFrog Fridge Farm Magnet set. It sings cute songs when you match up the animal fronts and backs. And you can make imaginary animals like horsecows or sheepducks. :) It's cute. He LOVED it!!

Merry Christmas everyone!
